Bilstein B8 6100 shock absorbers are filled with the technology perfected over 3 decades of off-road dominance. Bilstein's monotube gas pressure design with a large 2.65-in OD body and 60mm digressive piston maximizes heat dissipation for increased shock life, and decreases oil foaming to prevent performance loss while providing a smoother ride and more control over rough terrain. The B8 6100 will provide increased durability, making them perfect for vehicles subjected to rugged roads and harsh conditions.
Bilstein B6 4600 shock absorbers are designed as a direct fit upgrade to OE shock absorbers on stock height light trucks and SUV’s. These shock absorbers feature a monotube design which provides consistent fade free performance. B6 4600 shock absorbers utilize a unique, velocity sensitive, digressive piston which reacts to changing road conditions. All B6 4600 shock absorbers are tuned for each specific application to ensure optimal performance is achieved. B6 4600 shock absorbers offer a significant improvement in ride quality, handling, and comfort.
Bilstein B8 5100 shock absorbers are designed as a direct fit solution for lifted trucks and SUV’s. These shock absorbers feature a monotube design which provides consistent fade free performance. B8 5100 shock absorbers utilize a unique, velocity sensitive, digressive piston which reacts to changing road conditions. All B8 5100 shock absorbers are tuned for each specific application to assure optimal performance is achieved. Camburg's Dominator Preload System is a game-changer in the leveling suspension market. It replaces the top hat of OE shocks with a one-piece billet aluminum design that not only preloads the coil spring but also provides added lift. This innovative system ensures that suspension, steering, and driveline components operate within OE working limitations, preventing wear and failures. The added lift and preload allow for larger tires, increasing ground clearance and improving approach angles. It also offers better bottoming control and minimizes front end dive and body roll while maintaining a plush ride. CNC machined from aerospace 6061-T6 billet aluminum, red anodized, and laser-etched, the Dominator Preload System is a high-quality product. It includes all necessary hardware for a hassle-free installation and is suitable for both seasoned off-road enthusiasts and weekend warriors. Upgrade your stock vehicle for your next off-road adventure with Camburg's Dominator Preload System.
We then brought in a customer/friend’s truck that was a 2WD 2022 Tundra SR5 with TRD Off-Road package including the red Bilstein shocks and the coil sprung rear end. This truck already had a competitor’s leveling lift kit on it, I won’t call them by name but it sure seems like everyone with a new Tundra is using them, it is one of those kits that has a ½” thick strut spacer along with a taller billet preload collar, and in the rear has a ¾” thick coil spacer. That company has great reviews for this product, and I am about to tell you why I am surprised they did. This type of lift is commonly called a “Preload Collar Lift Kit”. This truck did not ride very good, in fact it rode worse than stock in the front. The reason is, this type of kit increases preload while decreasing droop travel, which deteriorates ride quality. This truck had only 1-3/4” of droop travel, no wonder it didn’t ride very good, plus it was only about 1-3/4”-2” taller than stock in the front. We removed the previous lift kit by removing the taller preload collars from the front Bilstein struts/shocks and used the stock collars instead, then removed the ½” thick strut spacer and replaced it with the Cognito strut spacer which is significantly taller. We went ahead and left the rear end alone that already had the 3/4" coil spacers. The result was 2.5” of front lift over stock, and a ride that was night and day better. I believe this truck only yielded 2.5” of front lift rather than 3” like my truck, because it was a 2wd. This truck with the Bilstein shocks rode even better than my truck that had the AVS shocks. Anyone can make parts or have parts made, but it is important to understand suspension if you are going to manufacture and brand suspension parts, please choose a brand that knows what they are doing (wink wink) so you can make sure you are getting value in return for your money.
