What We Do

Suspension lifts and leveling by Music City 4x4

Suspension Lifts & Leveling

Not every lift kit is created equal, and not every driver needs the same solution. At Music City 4x4, we walk you through options from spacer lifts and leveling kits to premium coilovers and full long arm systems. We match suspension to your vehicle, your goals, and your budget.

Once we pick the right path, our techs install with precision, torque to spec, road test, and align for lifted-vehicle specs, not factory defaults. Add our 500 mile re torque program and you leave with a setup that is stable, predictable, and safe at highway speeds.

FAQ

There is no single answer because every build is different. Our goal is to have your vehicle in our shop only as long as necessary to complete the work. Some installs are straightforward, while others require more time.

What we can promise is transparency. We quote realistic timelines up front, and right now we meet those deadlines over 90 percent of the time. We also understand that many of our customers rely on their vehicle every day, so we do everything possible to minimize downtime.

At the same time, safety and quality come first. If an install is not up to our standards, we will take the extra time to make it right. We do not rush jobs, because that is when mistakes happen. Our priority is to return your rig with a clean, safe, and professional install you can trust.

Yes. We take it seriously. Almost every lift kit and beadlock manufacturer recommends a full re-torque after 500 miles to ensure every nut and bolt is locked down to spec. We follow that guidance and make it part of our process.

Here is how we do it:

Step one: During install, our technicians mark every bolt with a mechanic’s marker. The line is drawn across both the nut and the threads, so if that line breaks it is clear the fastener has moved.

Step two: Each technician uses their own color marker, so we know exactly who installed and checked each component. That way, there is no guesswork. Accountability is built into every job.

At pickup, we tell every customer to return after 500 miles for a free re-torque. It costs nothing, and it is about safety. We want your vehicle to be as reliable and secure as you do, and this process ensures it stays that way.

We align every lifted vehicle to the lift manufacturer’s specs, not the factory numbers. Most local alignment shops do not do this. Aftermarket suspension often provides additional adjustability, which allows the alignment to be dialed in perfectly. Shops that do not specialize in lifted vehicles usually do not know those specs exist, and they miss the extra adjustments that come with certain suspension systems.

At Music City 4x4 this is daily work for us. We know the specs by heart, and we handle every alignment in-house with Hunter Hawkeye Elite Alignment Machines for precise, repeatable results. That combination of knowledge and equipment means your rig drives straight, handles correctly, and protects your investment in tires and suspension.

Yes. We do it every day, and we have a proven process for diagnosing and fixing it. The most important thing to know is this: do not wait. Death wobble does not fix itself. The longer you drive with it, the more damage it causes to other steering and suspension components. Also, do not let a shop tell you that you need a new steering stabilizer. That only masks the root cause.

At Music City 4x4 we have honed our inspection procedure through hundreds of vehicles. We know the common failure points and we know how to make the problem show itself. We even have mapped test routes around our shop that will trigger death wobble every time so we can confirm the issue is solved.

Our process starts with a full shake-down to look for anything visibly worn or loose. In many cases, replacing those components ends the problem. If it persists, we dig deeper into the things you cannot always see, such as tire balance, separated belts, or worn bolt holes that have become oblong over time. Every bolt is pulled and checked if necessary.

Most of the time the first round of inspection and replacement eliminates death wobble. When it does not, we have the tools and experience to find the hidden causes. The result is a rig that drives straight, stable, and safe again.

Yes, but we do not recommend it, and here is why. More often than not, customer-supplied parts are either incorrect or poor quality. In most cases, the customer is trying to save money, but without the right expertise it is easy to order the wrong item or something that will not hold up.

When we supply the parts, you get more than just the product. You get warranty support, and if parts arrive missing or incorrect, we handle that headache for you. If there is ever a defect, you deal directly with us, not a call center. We work with manufacturers every day, and our relationships often get faster, more favorable results than a retail buyer could get on their own.

There is also a bigger-picture reason to buy through us. Online sellers like Amazon are not the ones sponsoring your kid’s baseball team or standing behind their installs. We are. In many cases, you will pay the same price through us that you would online, but you also get the support, service, and warranty that come with it. For these reasons, our labor rate is higher if you choose to bring your own parts.

We understand that not everyone has a backup vehicle and sometimes waiting feels like the easiest option. The reality is that it is not always the best choice. Here is why.

At Music City 4x4 we charge by the job, not by the clock. The “hours” you see on an invoice are industry standard billing times, but they do not always reflect the real-world time an install will take. Sometimes a job runs long because of unexpected challenges, or we are finishing up another project that is wrapping later than planned. Rushing to meet a stopwatch leads to mistakes, and we will never put speed ahead of safety and quality.

Our Clarksville shop has a waiting area, but Hendersonville does not. To make things easier, we offer our Wrench & Ride Program, which helps cover part of an Uber ride when you spend a qualifying amount in labor. This way, you can get where you need to go without feeling stuck at the shop.

We also want to be upfront. When a customer sits and watches the bay or repeatedly asks if the vehicle is done, it puts unnecessary pressure on the team. That does not benefit anyone. Our focus is always a clean, safe, professional install, and we need the grace to get it right.
